Field hockey in the Lower Hudson Valley

John Jay-East Fishkill at Rye Friday, 7:30 p.m.

October

In case I have not talked about this enough, Rye will host John Jay-East Fishkill at Nugent Stadium, Friday, at 7:30 p.m.

The field hockey team, which leads Rye programs with three state championships (that is two more than Rye’s football team), gets Nugent Stadium on a Friday night, and the girls deserve it. John Jay-East Fishkill is a perennial power, owns two state Class A championships and was the 2005 sectional runner-up to Mamaroneck. And, by the way, since 1999, Rye has won six sectional championships, three state titles and was a 2004 state finalist.

This should be an outstanding game which features two of Section 1’s finest coaches in John Jay-EF’s Barbara Deppe and of course, Rye’s Kevin Kelly.

I expect a good crowd and an even better game.

Another great game today in Arlington. The score at halftime 0-0. Don’t know how it finished. Saturday night continues a great week of Hockey. Lakeland vs. Rye, should be an old fashion barn burner. Wow!! I don’t know how many football games will be as exciting as this one. Don’t miss it.

Arlington won 2-1 to remain undefeated.

Tony, when will we see some updates on how the teams are currently seeded in each class? I think a weekly update would be awesome.
