Field hockey in the Lower Hudson Valley

Saturday sectional results

Class A

No. 1 Mamaroneck 4, No.8 Ossining 0: Jocelyn Baumgarten and Ellen Williams scored first-half goals, both assisted by Charlotte Gardiner. Joanna Lyons and Cathleen Smith, assisted by Anna Reddicliffe and Williams, scored in the second half.  Mamaroneck (19-0) will host the No. 5 Carmel-No.4 John Jay-East Fishkill winner in a semifinal Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. at Flint Park in Larchmont.

No. 7 Arlington at No. 2 Fox Lane: This game was postponed to Monday, 4:15 p.m.

Class B

No. 1 Lakeland 3, No. 8 Lourdes 0: Megan Bozek, Leanne Goldblatt and Nikki Schultz scored in the opening 14:30 of the game. They also all had assists. Lakeland (17-2) will host No. 4 Briarcliff (10-2-4) in a semifinal Wednesday, 4:30 p.m.

No. 2 Rye 5, No. 10 Pleasantville 0: Olivia Nabhan and Emma Tucci each had a goal and two assists and Torie Stearns added two scores. The Garnets (17-0-1) will host No. 3 Putnam Valley in a semifinal Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. at Nugent Stadium. Rye beat Putnam Valley during the regular season. Pleasantville’s Chelsea Brooks made 14 saves.

No. 3 Putnam Valley 1, No. 6 Somers 0: Megan Warning converted an Erica Fisher centering pass two minutes into the second half. Jackie Gallagher handled three shots for the Tigers (16-2). Erin Ward made five saves for Somers.

No. 4 Briarcliff 1, No. 5 Panas 0: Melissa Colton pounced on a rebound and scored nine minutes into the second half for the Bears (10-2-4).

    Wow PV only beat Somers 1-0? Anybody see this game?

    .....yes Was at the PV/Somers game

    First half seem to be moving in slow motion….I think
    the weather was a factor
    Somers put up a good defensive game,unlike the season game that was 5-0
