Let’s not insinuate that Kingston is a less skilled group of rough players. There were yellow cards handed out to both teams and it was a physical game from the onset. Suffern deserves great credit for losing the stat war two games in a row but coming away with wins. That is sports and all that matters is the final score. It would have been nice for you to actually cover the game instead of covering Suffer only! There were some terrific individual efforts on BOTH teams!
They have actually lost the stat war 3 games in a row, but the final score is the only thing that counts here, so good job Suffern.
Kingston FH,
Kingston is not in the coverage area of The Journal News, which serves Westchester/Rockland/Putnam counties. If I were to focus on their efforts, that only detracts from what my audience wants to read about, which is Suffern in this case. This is common practice – i’m sure you won’t find Section 1 coverage in the Kingston Daily Freeman.
In terms of suggesting that Kingston is less skilled, that’s not the case either. I made reference to excellent stick handling of Kingston’s Jordan Beesmer in my story.
Great coverage Phil.
GREAT JOB SUFFERN. ALL OF SECTION 1 IS ROOTING FOR YOU. YOU AND YOUR COACH ALWAYS REPRESENT WHAT IS GOOD WITH HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. GO MOUNTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Raider…..try reading my post! I give Suffern all of the credit!
Pterrigno….if the game were played in Kingston I would hope the Freeman would report on the game! Sure, Kingston might get more print but I think you would see a balanced review of the game. That is all I am saying.
